Lord of the Mountains is committed to collaborative leadership and member engagement. The standing committees of the congregation are designed to oversee administrative tasks fundamental to the success of the mission and vision.
Education Committee
Faith formation is an important part of our ministry at Lord of the Mountains. Faith formation involves worship, service to others and educational programs. The Education Committee plans programs for all ages that take place outside of the regular worship service and Bible study.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is appointed by the Church Council to advise and aid the treasurer in administering the finances of our church and planning the budget. In addition, the Finance Committee establishes guidelines for the disbursement of church funds and recommends budget priorities to the Church Council.
Nominating Committee
The Nominating Committee consists of the pastor and four voting members of the congregation for the purpose of nominating members to the church council and to the Charitable Endowment Committee. The committee works in the fall to prepare a slate of nominees for the January annual meeting.
Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee provides support to the staff through regular conversation and feedback. The committee also reviews position descriptions, salary and benefits to assist in planning and for preparing the annual budget.
Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee is responsible for sharing the story of Lord of the Mountains with the Summit County community. As part of our outreach efforts, we invite members of the community to participate in our worship services and other activities. The committee oversees our website, social media, advertising and events.
Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee encourages the people of Lord of the Mountains to use their time, talents and treasure for the betterment of the congregation, the community and the world. It is responsible for the annual pledge drive and for gifts to the church, such as memorial gifts. As members of Lord of the Mountains, we believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. To answer that call, we responsibly manage the gifts God has so abundantly given to us. Stewardship is about how we use all that God has entrusted to our care — our time, our talents and our treasures — to love God and our neighbors.
