Lord of the Mountains is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, in the district of the Rocky Mountain Synod.
LOTM is a congregation of over 250 full time members and approximately 27 seasonal members and has many visitors during ski and summer recreational seasons.
The people who make up this congregation are far from homogenous. We have full time Summit County residents who often hold membership in this congregation, but we also have an equal if not greater number of seasonal/part time residents and lots of visitors who join us whenever they are in Summit county.
LOTM represents a diverse background of numerous Christian expressions. On any given Sunday, a large number of worshipers will not be Lutheran. We have a strong presence of Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, UCC, Episcopalians and many others. All you need to know is that you are welcome here.
Seeking to follow the example of Jesus, our Communion Table is open to all who are hungry for God’s presence in their lives. When you come with open hands, you will be fed.
You are always welcome to worship with us, and to participate in all ministries and functions our congregation offers. You can subscribe to our weekly email Field Guide to LOTM to learn about upcoming events, local and worldwide outreach volunteering and giving opportunities, celebrations, concerts and more.
Membership here is not a requirement for participating in worship, communion, bible studies, day services, choirs, lectures and concerts. But if you’d like to formally affiliate with Lord of the Mountains you can do so after talking with the Pastor. We’ll talk about your faith journey, about your hopes and expectations in affiliating with us, and our hopes and expectations for members of Lord of the Mountains.
Already a member in another congregation? There’s also the option to be an Associate Member which grants you the same rights and privileges except for casting a vote in a congregation meeting. We are not a substitute for your home congregation, but a complement to it!
Please call the church office to make an appointment with the pastor if you are interested.
